Power and Control

Power and Control

So, to begin, we are stuck on this island. How are we to get off? I, Sebastian, can barely take my brother and his stupid advisor Gonzalo. First off, they don’t stop whining about his son, my nephew, and it’s getting over the top. I just wish I could kill him. Wait, that’s a great idea. But if I kill him, that would look bad on me, so if I have Antonio do it, I won't look so terrible. The big question is, how do I go about doing this? Should I do it now or when they both fall asleep?

Just think of all the power I would have without my silly, wimpy brother at the throne. Think of the control I would have. All the wealth and power would be mine. And of course, Antonio as well. We would split it. We were walking in the woods and out of nowhere, my brother and his silly advisor were all of a sudden drowsy. They soon fell to the ground and were dead asleep. This got my mind running. We could get the deed over with right now, or keep it waiting. It is the perfect time. I began to talk to Antonio and he thought it was a great idea, so we agreed and began to walk over. It wasn’t until Gonzalo awoke and ruined the whole plan. It was all so perfectly planned! Now, what am I to do? I could use a jest. I wonder where Trinculo is?

Where the bloody hell am I? The last thing I remember was big waves and lot and lots of fire. Good heavens, am I in Heaven? I think not, it wouldn’t be this lonely. I don’t see anyone else. Maybe I’ve drunk too much. Who cares, it’s just me. Wait, it is just me. I’m the king of the island. Ya, I’ve definitely had too much to drink. Oh god, is that another storm? No please weather god, don’t put me through hell again. What in heaven’s name is that on the ground? God, it smells awful, like rotting fish. I wonder if it is alive. Oh my, the storm is getting closer. God help me. I will hide under the dead fish’s cloak. It’s bound to keep me dry. Wait, I hear someone, Stephano? Oh my good lord, Stephano! Thank heavens you are here. Stephano and I were friends from the ship, he was the King’s butler and I his Jester. I have a brilliant idea Stephano. Since it is the two of us on this island, I believe we should rule it together. Not only do we have true honor but courage as well. Bloody Nora, that thing is moving! I thought it was dead. Well, us three will have to rule the island together. We are noble and worthy, don’t you think monster. He was a bit weird in my opinion, nothing a “butt of sack” couldn’t fix. He seemed to enjoy it very much. Soon, Stephano and I could see that he was getting much better. What? The monster bows down to me? Well then, you shall be my subject! We shall rue this day!

Vanquish the Frost King

In the small town of Elkor,  the sun broke over the hills to the east.  The grass as green as ever and the sweet smell of flowers in the air arose the community.  A new day had arisen, but there was something different, something wrong.  Edward, a specialty with the power to become invisible, woke to an enormously loud sound.  He sprung out of bed, not brewing his famously known coffee to consume, and checked to see what had happened.  Everything inside the house seemed to be just fine.
He ventured to the outside world and saw a massive metallic looking object in his front yard.  He immediately was shocked as to what he was looking at.  He had never seen something this advanced.
After waking his neighbors and showing them what had fallen from the sky, they decided to give a try at seeing what exactly it was with their powers.  Edward's one neighbor has the ability to spew fire from his fingertips.  After failing at that, his other neighbor attempted to ram his extremely strong skull into the side of it.  Still, nothing would move or do anything to this object.  As the day progressed, the whole town of Elkor showed up to battle the object with their powers.  Person after person tried again and again, but still no luck.  It wasn't until 4:37 in the afternoon that something astonishing happened.  As Edward sat in his living room drinking a brandy and smoking his pipe, he saw a very bright flash come from outside.

Again, he quickly exited his abode only to find that everything was frozen.  Nothing was moving.  All of his fellow friends and neighbors were frozen, but not him.  Had it been because he was inside? Edward didn't this so.  As he was about to go back inside, he heard the most peculiar of sounds as if something had opened.  And to his astonishment, the metal figure had opened like a clam.  A woman lay there, in a metal suit.  She arose from her seat to greet Edward.  The woman merely levitated from her craft down to the frost covered ground.  She asked Edward who he was and what his specialty was.  He responded with his information.  She replied with an invitation on a journey to vanquish the frost king and rid the land of ice and snow.  Edward was hesitant but agreed to join her on her quest.
